Asheville House provides a supportive and safe community for adolescents who need transition support between a therapeutic program and their home or school environment. We connect adolescents with real life situations so they can learn to make better choices and have the confidence to direct their lives in a positive and productive manner.
• Structured Supervision. Asheville House has on-site supervision 24 X 7. Regular drug testing ensures that the entire community continues as a substance-free environment.
• Education Continuation. Students can take individual classes, seek their GED or complete their high school degree. Those ready for college have a variety of options in the Asheville area or through on-line course offerings.
• Counseling Support. Participants work with therapists to create personalized plans for success. Individual sessions with the therapist and with the group ensure that participants continue to work on areas that have created problems in the past.
• Addictions Support. Asheville House is a substance-free community. Participants coming from drug and alcohol treatment programs or who have substance abuse diagnoses receive education, addictions counseling, and 12-step support.
• Family Involvement. Asheville House holds regular updates with parents, provides education, and offers parent support groups. Families can also attend monthly weekend workshops at Asheville House. Family involvement is a key part of the program.
• Life Skills Training. Mentors help all participants manage their daily responsibilities. Some participants in the program will be taught the process to find and secure a job. Others will be taught to manage money, gain control over their daily schedule, and be educated in day to day practical skills required to be an independent adult.
